what's the best place to buy a catalytic convertor for an SI? I need stock size 2 1/4'. I heard carsound is pretty good, what price can I expect to pay? thanks.

You can buy a Carsound from Jeg's for around $100-120 if I remember correctly.

I believe the cat from Jeg's is a bare cat. Ie, there are no flanges on it and no O2 sensor bung.
Dave at SMS Products can sell you a perfect "drop-in" replacement Carsound cat. He basically takes the Carsound cat and makes it the right length, welds on the flanges, etc.
I got a 2.5" Carsound cat from him awhile back and the fit was perfect.

RT cats are known to have durability problems...Ive seen many fall apart after a couple of years.

Dave at SMS can install an extra bung for use with a wideband O2 sensor during tuning.

how much for one of these "bolt on" cats from Dave?
i got a 94 gsr with jrsc @ 6psi.. currently has stock header/cat/catback.
im getting a type R catback tonight, or in the next few days... what would you guys recommend? a 2.25" high flo cat?
